Crypto.com To Donate USD $1 Million to Support Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

Los Angeles, CA, January 16, 2025 – Crypto.com, the naming rights partner of Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, has pledged to donate USD $1 million to support wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles. Specifically, the donation will go towards the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation and Los Angeles Police Foundation, and is intended to help equip Los Angeles fire fighters and first responders with the necessary gear and equipment to ensure their safety and preparation for the current wildfire response and potential future disasters.

“We have an intimate connection to the City of Los Angeles through AEG and the Crypto.com Arena and our hearts are with all those impacted by the tragic wildfires,” said Matt David, President of North America and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Crypto.com. “Having lived in Los Angeles for nearly a decade and started my family there, the City is near and dear to my heart personally. While there is a long road ahead, we are committed to working with our partners and the community to do whatever we can to support those in need.”

Los Angeles Lakers Donation Drive Information: 

Fans attending Lakers games on January 13, 15 & 17 are encouraged to bring new, in-the-package, items to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s relief efforts. All contributions will assist those impacted by the recent wildfires. Collection bins will be located outside Crypto.com Arena at the Figueroa, Kobe Bryant and Star Plaza entrances. Each game night, the collections begin 1.5 hours before tipoff and remain open until halftime. 

Additionally, the Lakers’ UCLA Health Training Center (2275 E Mariposa Ave., El Segundo, CA 90245) will serve as a drive-thru donation center Tuesday, Jan. 14, through Saturday, Jan. 18, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. each day. 

The following are food and non-food items needed by the community at this time:

  • Non-food Items: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, waterless shampoo, phone chargers (battery pack), socks, mittens (gloves), hand warmers, beanies, blankets (Please note: No clothing donations) 
  • Food items: peanut and other nut butters, protein-based snacks (bars, peanut butter, protein cookies), crackers, peanut butter crackers, trail mix, fruit snacks, energy bars, pop top tuna, pop top chicken, 100% juice boxes, raisins and other dried fruit, UHT milk, individual cereal boxes, 16-20 oz water, non-carbonated drinks

LA Kings Donation Drive Information:

The Kings’ Toyota Sports Performance Center El Segundo, CA, has been designated to serve as a supply collection site on behalf of the YMCA.  Since Saturday, January 11, the LA Kings and training center staff joined other volunteers in mobilizing and collecting critical supplies in support of the fire relief and recovery efforts due to the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.

The collection drive will continue throughout this week. Items can be dropped off in the front of the Toyota Sports Performance Center daily between 10am – 6pm at 555 N. Nash St., El Segundo, CA 90245. Upon arrival, pull to one of the loading zone spots and LA Kings staff will assist with unloading your car.

All items donated will be delivered to local YMCAs who are on the front lines distributing to those in need.

Requested items include:

  • New toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.
  • New and unopened diapers and wipes
  • Packaged phone chargers
  • Bottled water
  • Canned or packaged non-perishable food items
  • Pet Supplies and Food
  • Usable hockey gear

Crypto.com Arena Food Donations: 

Crypto.com Arena’s food and beverage partner, earlier this week Levy Restaurants provided over 600 meals to first responders at the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department along with the LA Mission with food that was going unused due to postponed NHL and NBA games to ensure the food would not go to waste. Additional meal donations are planned.

Lazy Dog Restaurants including L.A. LIVE Location and others supporting first responders

Last week, Lazy Dog restaurants offered complimentary meals for firefighters and first responders at select Los Angeles and Ventura County locations, including L.A. LIVE. On Monday, Jan. 13, those restaurants hosted a fundraising event and donated 100% of their net profits to The American Red Cross to help those affected by the wildfires. Additionally, other restaurants at L.A. Live, including Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Katsuya, have provided dozens of meals to first responders who have traveled to Los Angeles to fight the wildfires.
